We are currently accepting applications for a dynamic, highly skilled and innovative individual for the position of Operations Manager to join our Atlantic Fleet Operations Group located in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Reporting to the Director of Fleet Operations, the Operations Manager is responsible for the safe and environmentally-responsible management of our shrimp and ground fish vessel.

As a key member of the shore-based support team, the Operations Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of effective vessel management strategies, including but not limited to: efficient turnaround schedules; fishing plan activities; and preventative maintenance oversight including the coordination of activities with vessel crew and maintenance supervisors. The Operations Manager is responsible to coordinate compliance to all federal and provincial safety legislation requirements as well as corporate objectives. The incumbent is also responsible for the implementation, preparation and review of monthly vessel reports.
As a key member of our team, the Operations Manager will lead a number of projects that contribute to the development and implementation of new operational systems and processes to support and drive the Fleet Operations Team. You will assess current business practices while developing solutions to meet the broader needs of the Team and fleet of vessels.
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
You are a solutions-focused, experienced professional who welcomes challenge and change. You have demonstrated sound judgment, analytical and problem solving skills and you have the capability to manage multiple projects in a demanding, fast-paced work environment. Ideally you possess training in a marine discipline supplemented by work experience in a marine/manufacturing environment. Experience with the use of personal computer applications is a required asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is available, including health and pension plans.
