Fishing has been an integral part of our culture for hundreds of years. Simply put, it’s part of who we are.

Today, the offshore fishery is a modern, thriving industry. As the world changes, so do we.

The Offshore Fishery Association brings together companies, people, and communities to harvest and process high-quality seafood and deliver it to the rest of the world in a modern, sustainable way. Our member companies, listed below, are primarily locally-owned, family-run businesses.

The offshore fishery employs over 2,000 Newfoundlanders and Labradorians in 300 communities throughout the province. That’s over $90 million in salaries.

These highly skilled and educated men and women work together in fish plants, on vessels, and in offices to bring our world-class seafood to over 30 countries around the globe.

But the offshore fishery is more than just seafood. Innovation in areas like sustainability, technology, research and the environment helps strengthen our economy, create jobs, protect our oceans, and puts our province on the world stage.

It’s time to take a deeper look at today’s offshore fishery.
